Suzanne founded NewMarket Law after more than 25 years in roles starting with global law firms based in New York, to in-house practice, legal technology, court administration, and professional regulation. Her experience gives her a distinctive perspective on the evolving regulation of legal services.

In 2020, Suzanne joined the Arizona Supreme Court to help develop and implement North America’s first Alternative Business Structure (ABS) program, reviewing all applications and working with licensees, court leadership, the ABS Committee, and other stakeholders. She later moved into the private sector where she gained firsthand experience with the operational, compliance, and regulatory challenges facing innovative legal-service businesses. Suzanne subsequently served as Bar Counsel with the State Bar of Arizona, handling disciplinary and regulatory matters, including investigations involving ABS entities and the lawyers responsible for their compliance.

Today, Suzanne brings those perspectives together in advising ABSs, law firms, investors, compliance lawyers, and legal innovators on regulatory strategy, professional responsibility, governance, licensing, and the development of new legal-service models. Her work is informed by experience on virtually every side of Arizona’s ABS framework: helping build the regulatory system, working within regulated businesses, participating in professional enforcement, and advising clients navigating the rules.

Suzanne is Vice President of the Arizona Bar Foundation Board of Directors and serves on its Technology and Legal Services Committees. She previously chaired the Rules Subcommittee of the Arizona Supreme Court’s ABS Committee and served on the State Bar of Arizona’s Access to Justice Committee. She is a member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, Arizona Women Lawyers Association, and National ABS Law Firm Association.

Suzanne holds a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, and a B.Sc. and LL.M. from the University of Toronto. She is licensed in Arizona, New York, Ontario, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
