About Suzanne Porter
Suzanne founded NewMarket Law after 25+ years in legal roles spanning global law firms, academia, in-house, legal technology, and court leadership. In 2020, just weeks after the Arizona Supreme Court voted to modernize its legal ethics rules, she joined the court to build the first Alternative Business Structure (ABS) program in North America. Since then, Suzanne has worked with applicants, licensees, and other stakeholders leveraging regulatory reforms that promote innovation and expand access to justice through outside investment and multidisciplinary legal service models.
Suzanne is an active member of the legal community. She currently serves as Chair of the Rules Subcommittee of the Arizona Supreme Court ABS Committee, Secretary of the Arizona Bar Foundation Board of Directors, Chair of the Bar Foundation Technology Committee, and a member of the Legal Services Committee. Suzanne is also a member of the State Bar of Arizona Access to Justice Committee, the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, and the Arizona Women Lawyers Association. Most recently, Suzanne was appointed Vice President of the National ABS Law Firm Association.
Suzanne holds a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, as well as a B.Sc. and LL.M. from the University of Toronto. She is licensed in Arizona, New York, Ontario, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
